Glenfiddich is the perfect blend for what broodmare owners seek in a stallion prospect: physique, pedigree, precocity and performance.

Ultimately, this son of Champion Sire, Fastnet Rock – with a family to match – would stamp his racing career with a victory in the Gr.2 Bill Stutt Stakes and also finish second (beaten a nose) in the Gr.1 Champagne Stakes as a 2YO.

An outstanding athlete, Glenfiddich was thrown in at the deep end with his first start in Group company in the spring, before his juvenile highlights included a second to Hanseatic in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview, a lip second in the Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic, a three-length demolition in the Mornington Sires’ and, in his final start at two, run a nose second to multiple Group 1 winner, King’s Legacy, in the Champagne Stakes. Interestingly, the beaten brigade in the Champagne included Ole Kirk who would go on to win both the Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas at 3.

Glenfiddich also continued the good form as a 3YO, resuming with a third behind 3-time Group 1 winner, Behemoth, in the Gr.1 Memsie Stakes, while at his very next start, capture the Gr.2 Bill Stutt Stakes and emulate sire greats such as Pierro, Encosta De Lago, Canny Lad and Zabeel.

Spreadeagling his opposition in the Stutt, the beaten brigade included 4-time stakes winner Cherry Tortoni and Australian Guineas winner, Lunar Fox.

Competing at black type level at all but two of his career starts (five of the final six at Group 1), Glenfiddich raced against the elite sprinter/milers in Australia.

Glenfiddich is by multiple Champion Australian Sire and major stallion influence, Fastnet Rock (185 stakes winners), whose sire sons include Foxwedge, Hinchinbrook and Smart Missile.

Indeed, Fastnet Rock is a major influence in this well-related pedigree given that he is also the sire of Glenfiddich’s close relations Eleven Eleven (winner of $2.9 millions in stakes) and Group 1 Doomben Cup winner, Comin’ Through. Other members of this power packed family include the 4-time Group 1 winner, Criterion.

“Glenfiddich is an absolute machine, he was without a doubt a Group 1 winner in waiting. I can’t wait to get my hands on his progeny!”
Peter Moody, Trainer

“Glenfiddich is one of the nicest colts I’ve put a bridle on, I still can’t believe we never got that Group 1 next to his name but I’m confident he‘ll throw very nice horses like himself.”
Peter Moody, Trainer

Jonker is the epitome of genetic evolution, not only is he the fastest product of his successful sire line, he is also the best looking. A strong masculine stallion with incredible balance and athleticism, Jonker is the trump card.

Jonker is a welcome addition to Queensland’s stallion ranks.

His racetrack career highlighted many attributes desired by Australian breeders, early maturity, record breaking speed, soundness, longevity and of course a Group 1 winner. Once that is combined with his incredible nature and sex appeal, it puts Jonker in rarefied air.

Victory in the MVRC Manikato S., Gr 1 (1200m) at Moonee Valley and further placings in Group 1 events the BRC Kingsford Smith Cup (1200m) and the ATC Galaxy Hcp (1200m) added to an impressive record during 5 years on the track.

At 2, Fast from the start JONKER made a big impression on debut in the Newcastle Max Lees 2YO Classic (900m) streaking away by 4 and a half lengths. He then brilliantly announced himself as a future star, dominating the Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (RL) (1100m) a race previously won by champion stallions NOT A SINGLE DOUBT, SNITZEL and CAPITALIST

At 3, JONKER was luckless when pitted against the cream of that year’s crop, he had placings in Sydney’s version of the Coolmore Stud Stakes, The Arrowfield Sprint (Gr 2) behind world class sprinter and champion Classique Legend and placings at Group and Listed level in the San Domenico Stakes (Gr 3) and Fireball Stakes (LR)

During the Queensland summer carnival JONKER came of age, a victory first up in the BRC Keith Noud Hcp (LR), preceded a placing in the George Moore Stakes (Gr 3) before a dominant win in the $1,000,000 GCTC Magic Millions Snippets P.(1200m), further placings followed at the elite level in the Galaxy behind Champion Eduardoand the Kingsford Smith Cup to Vega One.

JONKER put on a spectacular exhibition of blistering, sustained speed in winning the GROUP 1 Manikato Stakes, in doing so recorded the FASTEST time of any male to do so. That time was also nearly 2 seconds quicker than his Sire and Grandsire recorded over the same track and distance on the same track conditions.
